The minister went on to add that six states are expected to face water shortage as the weather gets hotter due to the lack of rainfall. These six states are Negri Sembilan, Johor, Perak, Kedah, Pahang and Kelantan.
It was also noted in the statement that many locations have not been receiving rain for over 30 days. Hulu Perak has gone over 56 days without rain and Setiu, Terengganu has gone 31 days without.
Currently, three dams around Malaysia are at only around 50% storage capacity due to the lack of rainfall.
