A woman wearing a bawal headscarf became the center of attention among Malaysians when she was spotted examining Liverpool’s Joe Gomez in a video uploaded to social media in July. Seemingly a Malaysian, people were a little jealous and very curious.

Well, it appears that the mystery has been solved! Recently, Utusan Malaysia managed to identify the mysterious woman as Aleah Mohammad, a Malaysian PhD student studying cardiovascular physiology at John Moores University, Liverpool!

If you missed the whole thing, you can watch the video below. FYI, Aleah appears at the 5:10 mark.

In an interview, the mother of three told Utusan how she came to be on Liverpool’s medical team. Aleah, 37, said it all started after one of her supervisors offered her the opportunity to perform cardiovascular screening tests for the Reds.

“By the end of 2015, I began conducting my PhD cardiovascular research for the Liverpool Ladies team.

Then, one of my supervisors, Professor Dr John Somauroo, who is also a Cardiologist Consultant for the English Football Association (FA) and Liverpool, offered for me to participate in performing the cardiovascular
screening tests for this club.

Since then, I’ve been doing the screening tests for Liverpool.”

Since Aleah has been up close and personal with the team, she entertained Utusan with some details on the players. She said they’re really nice guys.

“From what I’ve seen, Liverpool players don’t ever act entitled or arrogant.  One or two players appear to be a bit more serious than the others and aren’t as talkative, but they always listen to instructions from club officials.

Personally, I’m fond of how Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain carries himself, he’s the easiest to get along with and is very cooperative. Mohamed Salah is a bit shy when you first meet him, but he’s always smiling.

Sadio Mane is very friendly, but he’s also disciplined and is never late for a screen. He seems like the quiet type, but he’s actually really sociable. While Roberto Firmino is always all smiles.

Klopp is exactly how he comes off as in the media. He’s friendly with everyone in the club no matter who you are. He’s always the first person to greet you. However, from what I’ve seen, he becomes more serious when a big game is approaching. He’s committed.”

Speaking about her future plans, Aleah hopes to serve the Malaysian sports arena when she returns home at the end of the year.

“I plan to dedicate and share my knowledge and skills with sports agencies, sports associations and football associations in Malaysia, so our medical policies are streamlined and can be better enhanced.”

We’re sure everyone will be fighting to have you on their team, Aleah!
