For those who didn’t know, Grant was not just a TV host and personality, he was an electrical engineer who began his Hollywood career by working at THX labs – an affiliate of Lucasfilm.

He then went on to become Chief Model Maker specializing in animatronics. Grant was also known for his impressive work on Star Wars, The Matrix, and Terminator 3.

MythBusters co-host Adam Savage took to Twitter to pay tribute to Grant saying, “I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”

Friends, fans and loved ones of the MythBusters host have flooded social media with their tributes to an amazing man who left a big impact on their lives.

Rest in peace Grant, we’ll miss your amazing discoveries.

Our thoughts and love are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
