It’s only January but we’ve had our very first heartbreak of the year. Boo, the “World’s Cutest Dog” has passed away.
The Pomeranian pup became a social media sensation after his owners started sharing his adorable antics online. The pup garnered over 16 million likes on Facebook during his time.

His owner’s shared the sad news of Boo’s passing on social media saying:
“With deepest sadness I wanted to share that Boo passed away in his sleep early this morning and has left us to join his best friend, Buddy.”

According to the post, Boo’s health started deteriorating after his best friend, Buddy passed away in September 2017.
“Shortly after Buddy died, Boo showed signs of heart issues. We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us. He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time,” his owners wrote.
His owners went on to say,
“Boo, we love you with all our heart and will miss you until the day we meet again. Have fun running around with Buddy and creating adorable mischief wherever you guys go.”
Fans of Boo were shocked at the news and some were in tears when they found out.

In addition to his huge social media following, Boo was appointed as Virgin America’s Official Pet Liaison in 2012. He also had a book deal and appeared in photo books including “Boo: The Life of the World’s Cutest Dog” that was published in 2011.
Goodbye Boo. We’ll miss your adorable presence but we hope your having fun with your best friend!
