We love our superheroes, but what we love more are the every day heroes exactly like this group of students from Terengganu who helped to save a beached dolphin.

Recently, there’ve been many sightings of dolphins, whale and even whale sharks along the coasts of Malaysia.
Now, a dolphin seems to have found itself stranded on the beaches of Pantai Tanjung Gelam near Kuala Nerus.
Luckily, these seven marine biology students from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) were around to help this dolphin, just in the nick of time.

According to one of the students, Mohd Nur Aiman Suhaimi, he had received a call from a villager nearby at about 1.30pm, alerting him about a stranded dolphin on the beach.
“I did not believe at first because as far as I know, there has never been any sighting of dolphins stranded off the coast of Terengganu before,” he said.
“We did have stranded turtles many times before, but never a dolphin,” he added.
Aiman and six other UMT students rushed down to the beach where it took them roughly five minutes to get the dolphin back into deeper waters. Unfortunately, the dolphin was too weak to withstand the tide but after some encouragement, it managed to make its way back to freedom.
“It was worrying when the dolphin started ti make some sounds,” said Aiman. “There was a small cut on its head. Fortunately, it managed to swim back to the ocean after a while.”
The students waited for half an hour after releasing the dolphin into the see to ensure that it was out of danger.
Our faith in humanity has definitely been restored with these students!
