It's pumpkin season and this man has taken his pumpkin carving game to the next level! The superhero level!

Since 2009, Andy Manoloff from Indiana, USA , has been carving an intricate design into a pumpkin, often choosing superheroes as his muse. His carving-specialty began when Andy grew tired of carving the same designs into pumpkins, so he decided to put his imagination to good use and try something different.

Andy first posted an Iron Man creation from 2009 on his Instagram that garnered a lot of attention. Using a combination of traditional carving and etching techniques, the pumpkin artist not only won local and online contests, but he also went viral. Since then, he challenged himself to go bigger every year.

Some of his most famous superhero work include Spider-Man, Wonder Woman and Batman.

This year, Andy took on the challenge of  creating the Avengers: Infinity War villain, Thanos. And just like his previous works, it is mind blowing.

"Superheroes from film became a natural subject of choice due to the dramatic costumes, lighting and the fact [that] I am a fan," he explained to Unilad.

He added, "More specifically when choosing an image I always try to choose something that has dramatic lighting, in particular something with some sort of intense highlights or actual light (for example Iron Man's chest light."

Each pumpkin carving takes between eight and 20 hours for Andy create. He said that the preparation time alone - putting the pattern onto the pumpkin, can take between four to 10 hours.
