Ok so everyone watched the movie Titanic right, and if you don’t it’s basically based on the true story of how the “unsinkable” ship sank after it struck an iceberg in 1912.
Guess what. They are building a replica of the Titanic ship, named the Titanic II. And to set sail… following the same route as the original...
The Titanic II is set to make its first voyage in 2022 and will welcome 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members, the exact number of people on board the original ship that sunk.
And if you’re wondering why they are not learning from their mistake… the Titanic II will include an appropriate number of life boats, life-jackets and plenty of modern safety features this time around.
Although the previous tragedy was caused by design flaws, inadequate safety protocols and human error, the Titanic II designer are not taking any chances by making anti-iceberg upgrades and having a welded hull instead of a riveted one.
The Blue Star Line halted the construction on the Titanic II back in 2015 due to financial disagreements but eventually announced that they will complete the ship.
The Titanic II will first take a two-week trip from Dubai to Southampton, England before tracing the original route planned for the original Titanic across the North Atlantic to New York.
Netizens are concerned about the whole idea and expressing their doubts over the replica of the originally sunken ship!
Well whatever it is, makes sure you get your own door if you’re boarding the ship because we all know what happened to Jack…
Would you take a maiden voyage on Titanic II? Tell us!
