Ah, the comforting scent of a bantal busuk. In case you don’t know what it is, a bantal busuk literally translates to “smelly pillow”, and is a pillow that children often carry with them wherever they go.

Most bantal busuk owners will do everything they can to protect that distinctive smell that they can’t be without. However, that isn’t the wisest thing to do because a pillow left unwashed for many months—or worse, years—is not quite hygienic. Here’s proof:

Some netizens were suspicious of whether or not the photo was fake, but a closer look at the pillow shows evidence of white spots, confirming the presence of infestation.
