Many of us might have thought of being an entrepreneur sometime in our life but this kid started way earlier and actually become one!
Jose Adolfo Quisocala Condori started his own bank at the age of 7 and now serves over 2,000 clients and even offers various financial services!
His idea came about 6 years ago, when he was thinking of a way to make kids generate money without the help of their parents. And his solution is… recycling!
The idea is simple – to start as a client of the bank you must first turn in 5 kilograms of recyclable paper or plastic and then continue to deposit at least 1 kilogram every month to maintain your membership.
The bank offers you a higher price per kilogram of recyclable waste and you can set a saving goal which will only allow you to withdraw your savings if you achieve it.
The Bartselana Student Bank has collected 1 ton of recyclable material between 2012 and 2013 and the success got him a lot of attention! He was almost partnered with a large bank in Peru once and have been approached for join ventures.
The now 13 year-old Jose said that he’s not intimidated from meeting bank executives to talk about business and that he feel more comfortable with adult people because they understand the projects” he is proposing to them.
So if your dream is to become an entrepreneur, know that it’s never too early (or too late) to start! What were you doing when you were 7-years-old?
