How many times have you walked up to an autopay machine or vending maching and slid in a RM1 note, only to have it rejected over, and over, and over again?

No matter which angle it’s in, the machine just seems to hate your RM1. And we bet, you’ve even tried crumpling that note in your hand, just to give it some “texture” that will hopefully help. But nope, rejected again.

Finally, you struggle to find a different RM1 note or you trade it with the person behind you in the long line that has formed since you began your fight with the machine.

But, why does this keep happening?

Someone on Twitter has the answer.

In a tweet that has now gone viral, Aini explained that some machines don’t accept the RM1 note because of the signature on it.

Her tweet read, “Fun fact: some vending machines don’t accept your RM1 because it has Muhammad bin Ibrahim signature. It only accepts Zeti Aziz bank notes."

We’re totally mindblown by this new found fact and it seems like every Malaysian on Twitter is too!

Well, now we know. Be sure to check you RM1 note before you pick a fight with the autopay/vending machine! Did you know about this fun fact before?
