As Malaysians, we know that our food is the best. Many of us would be willing and have travelled all over Malaysia just to satisfy a food craving with no regrets.
And when it comes to love for our food, this British man may have just beat all of us because he travelled 9,600km just for nasi lemak!

Darren Cronian is a travel blogger from the UK and he LOVES nasi lemak.
The 45-year-old has even previously called himself a nasi lemak addict and he proved his love for Malaysia’s beloved dish by spontaneously making his way from Greece to Kuala Lumpur just to satisfy his craving!
In a recent YouTube video, Darren noted that he could not stop thinking about nasi lemak after seeing pictures of the dish on Instagram. In fact, it was “all he could think about.”
Before making his 9,600km trip, the travel blogger first looked for Malaysian restaurants in Athens but unfortunately could not find one. He then decided that he would only settle for nasi lemak from Malaysia.
Ditching his previous travel plans, Darren made his way to Kuala Lumpur.
“I flew from Athens to Singapore, which took around 11 hours, and then after a six-hour stopover in Singapore, I flew to Kuala Lumpur,” he told Malay Mail.
After 9,600km, Darren finally had his hot, piping plate of nasi lemak and the joy on his face is definitely contagious!

According to Malay Mail, the 45-year-old first fell in love with nasi lemak five years ago on his first ever trip to Malaysia. Since then, he has made his way back to our country several times a year!
We’re super impressed by Darren’s dedication to nasi lemak and can’t help but to admire his dedication of travelling 9,600km just for a plate!
If we were put in the same situation, we’d definitely do the same if we could!
