Technology is pretty advance these days, and facial recognition is one of the prime technology in recent years. But what if you’re constantly watched over by a facial recognition tech in class?
A school in Hangzhou, China installed a new facial recognition system that’ll be scanning student’s faces every 30 seconds to analyse their expression and behaviour to make sure they are paying attention in class.
Seven emotions—happy, sad, disappointed, angry, scared, surprised and neutral—are collected from students. These emotions will then be used to alert teachers and to evaluate the teachers’ performance in the school.
“I don’t dare be distracted after the cameras were installed in the classrooms. It’s like a pair of mystery eyes are constantly watching me,” a student revealed.
The tech is currently on its one-month trial and could be installed in schools across China if it proves to have positive results.
Definitely no lepak and daydreaming in classes anymore with this tech!
