As Malaysians, nasi lemak has been one of our most beloved dishes. No matter the time of day, we’ll have nasi lemak anywhere!

Now, we’ve seen quite a few renditions of our favourite dish. There’s been nasi lemak pizza, nasi lemak ice cream, nasi lemak cake, nasi lemak sushi and so much more.

But what we want to talk about is spaghetti nasi lemak.

Spaghetti nasi lemak isn’t something new. It’s been around for a while now with many coming up with their own version of the pasta accompanied with sambal, eggs, peanuts, ikan billis and cucumber.

But recently, a post by the San Remo Macaroni Company, has made its way around again and it’s turning heads everywhere.

In conjunction with Malaysia Day, the pasta company re-shared their recipe of “Spaghetti Lemak Bungkus” that was first shared in 2017.

Though it was shared a couple of years ago, it seems like some are seeing it for the first time and have taken to sharing their thoughts (and memes) on the… interesting rendition of nasi lemak.

One Facebook user commented saying, “NOOOOO *TRIGGERED NOISES* WHO EAT NASI LEMAK WITHOUT NASI LEMAK?!!!!”

Another user said, “It doesn’t work that way. The words lemak unless u cooked the spaghetti with coconut milk, plain spaghetti eat with the sambal well… Its fine but not the spaghetti.”

“How to offend Italians and Malaysians in a single dish,” another commented.

This is definitely an interesting version of spaghetti nasi lemak…

What are your thoughts on the dish? What would you change/add if you could? Let us know!
