Recently, a viral message was shared on WhatsApp and Facebook showing photos that made it seem like Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed fell during prayers at Masjid Negara yesterday morning.

The sequence of the photos seems to have been reversed, showing a picture of a man holding his arm, followed by him bending over the floor supporting himself with his hands. A message was added saying that Tun M had tripped due to being “stressed out over various reasons”.

“He did not trip… he is doing okay,” an aide of Dr Mahathir said. “The photos were meant to tell the world that PM7 (the seventh prime minister, Dr Mahathir) is able to lift himself up without assistance. He is still very fit to do so even with little rest after the trip to China,” a veteran photographer told The Star.
