A viral ‘beauty challenge’ that aims to flaunt one’s slender physique is gaining quite a buzz online in Asia.
The Fish In Collarbone Challenge started in China, and involves putting as many fish into your collarbone as possible to highlight how skinny you are. The challenge, which appears to promote some skewed beauty standards, became popular last year and is making a comeback.

While the depth of one’s clavicle can’t really accurately measure one’s size considering the variety of body types that exist, the new ‘beauty challenge’ has generated quite a response from netizens. The challenge, which started on Weibo, claims that the more fish your clavicle can hold, the slimmer and sexier you are.
This challenge can be extremely cruel to the fish they use. Who knows how many fish have been hurt from being dropped or have accidentally swam out of these small collarbone puddles for the mere satisfaction of these vain people?

Despite the obvious foolishness of this challenge, it was actually quite the craze in China several years ago. So much so that a waterpark in Chongqing held a contest, inviting women to participate in this challenge for the chance to win free tickets.
In case you haven’t figured out, skinny women with prominent collarbones are considered very attractive in China.
