Going on a blind date can sometimes be scary and often times, a third person (or more) may be invited to help ease those first date worries.
But one woman took inviting someone else to a blind date, to a whole new level.
She invited 23 people along.

A man from China was recently set up on a blind date by a matchmaker and before going on the date, he had agreed to pay for the meal.
When meeting up for the date, the 29-year-old from Zhejiang, China was shocked to find out that his blind date had brought along 23 members of her family!
According to Chinese news portal Sohu, the woman’s relatives took up four tables in the restaurant and their dinner spread was super lavish, in an effort to “test” the man’s generosity.
The final bill? 19,800 yuan (RM12,286)!

When the man – who goes by the name Chen, saw the final bill, he was shocked! (We would have been too tbh). He snuck out of the restaurant and turned off his phone too, leaving the woman to pay for the dinner.
The matchmaker who brought Chen and the woman together, did so once again to settle the issue of the bill.
In the end, Chen agreed to pay for the two tables in his room that cost 4,398 yuan (RM2,727) while the woman had to pay the balance of 15,402 yuan (RM9,551).

According to reports, the woman went back to her family members who had attended the dinner-date and asked them to pay for their share saying:
“Hi everyone, thank you for your support during my last blind date. The guy and I agreed before the date that he would pay for the meal.
Someone created trouble during the meal by claiming that the guy is rich, so they should eat more and test his generosity. It made the whole situation unbearable.
I am the biggest victim in this situation.
Because the amount spent far exceeds what I am able to pay.
My reputation has also been damaged.
I hope the bill can be split equally among us all.”

Some of the woman’s relatives quietly sent her e-red packets while others had responses like:
“Sister, you were the one who asked us along. I only had a simple meal. I didn’t ask for anything extra,” and,
“Shouldn’t the guy pay on a blind date?”

Well… That’s definitely a first date for the books!
