It's generally understood that you don’t do anything in a taxi driver's car that could make a mess. The list includes eating, smoking…and… that’s about it really. Or so we thought.
Earlier this week, Coconuts Bangkok reported that a woman defecated in a Bangkok taxi. Yes, you read that right. The woman was a tourist who was picked up in Asoke, outside Terminal 21. She asked the taxi driver to take her to Ratchadapisek Soi 7. On their way there, the woman told the driver that she needed to use the bathroom. According to the driver, he couldn't stop at a petrol station because the road was congested.
Unfortunately for him, when nature calls, it calls. The lady couldn’t tahan much longer and decided to do her business on the floor of the taxi.
When that happened, interestingly, the driver was suddenly able to easily stop his car—he initially said he couldn't. He then asked her to pay the damage fee for the mess she’d made. The woman refused to pay, but insisted that the driver continue to take her to her destination. Very brave.
The driver proceeded to call the police. Sadly, the police couldn’t help him because apparently, they can’t arrest her for “making an accidental mess” in the car. So, the woman left and the poor driver had to clean the car himself.
