Imagine having a sudden urge to check your bank account in the middle of the night, and finding out that your in debt. But not just in debt.

Just recently, a woman from the USA found over RM4 billion in her account and now, and now, another woman is finding herself on the extreme opposite spectrum.
It was the middle of the night when Maddie McGivern suddenly thought about checking her bank account. To her shock, she found that she was $50 billion (RM208 billion) in debt.
-$49,999,999,697.98 (RM208,037,723,063.37) to be exact.

Maddie, who hails from California, USA, uploaded a Tik Tok saying:
“I wish I could say I bought the city of Los Angeles. It’s not the case here. I’m not really sure what inclined me to check my bank account at like 2am. But I did. And then I saw negative $49 billion. Called my bank, and it went something like this:
‘Hello this is Chase bank how may I help you? Hi, I’m negative 50 billion dollars in debt, and I’m not quite sure why.’
Maddie of course, did not even have the money to begin with.
“Do I have 50 billion dollars? No,” she continued. “I do have $76 (RM316).”
Apparently, the bank staff had no idea how the mistake occurred either.
“So she goes, ‘can I put you on hold?’ I’ve never seen this before,” Maddie shared the conversation. “I was like, oh.”
Not only was Maddie apparently billions of dollars in debt, her account also showed that she would receive $50 billion in 2099.
“It also said on my account I would get $50 billion in 2099. Which would be sick but I don’t know if I would be alive at that point.”
As it was the middle of the night, Maddie had no choice but to follow up with the bank the next day.

After explaining her predicament, she was told by the bank staff that it was a new tactic the bank has to tell users there is something wrong with their account.
Maddie advised those who experience the same issue to call the bank.
“I will say it’s the scary way to grab someone’s attention,” she said. “Clearly they do that to grab your attention, because they want you to fix your ****.”
“But it’s fixed and that’s all that matters,” she added. “So no, I’m not 50 billion dollars in debt anymore, thank God.”
Maddie it seems is not the only person who experienced this billion-dollar debt. Multiple individuals have also come forward with the same predicament.
We don’t know what our reaction would be if we saw such a huge debt on our accounts! Ngl, we’d probably laugh, cry, faint and repeat…
