When you’re in a relationship, it’s only natural to think about the next step. And that’s usually marriage. However, sometimes the two individuals may not be on the same page…
For one woman, eight years seemed a bit too long to wait for a proposal so she decided to sue her boyfriend.

Gertrude Ngoma from Kenya has been dating Herber Salaliki for eight years and she was concerned that her boyfriendwas not serious about their relationship.
After promising to marry her at some point, the 26-year-old woman was tired of waiting for him to pop the question after years and felt that her time had been wasted.
“He has never been serious,” Gertrude said about the 28-year-old man. “That is why I brought him to court because I deserve to know the way forward and our future.”

Getrude, who has a child with Herbert but lives separately from him with her parents, has been doubting the man’s loyalty since she discovered that he was “testing another woman”, Toku reported.
In Herbert’s defence, he did have a valid reason as to why he has not proposed to Gertrude.
According to reports, the man’s lack of a ring was not due to lack of interest but because of he wasn’t in a financial position to afford a wedding at the moment and wanted to pop the question only until his finances became more stable.

But why didn’t Gertrude and Herbert have a conversation about their future before going to court? The judge seemed to think the same.
Instead of ordering the man to be more committed to the relationship, the judge advised the couple that “reconciliation was the best way to go as there was no evidence of any marriage yet,” and told them that the matter would be better settled outside of court.

This definitely does seem like something that should have been talked about and solved between the two… Hopefully Gertrude and Herbert will finally have that discussion now.
