Do you remember how nervous you were as a child in year one, sitting for your first mid-term exam?

Fortunately, the next-gen won’t be going through this exam stress anymore!
According to the Education Director General, Datuk Dr Amin Senin, starting 1st Jan 2019, mid-year and final-year exams for Year One, Two and Three will be abolished.
Schools have been focusing too much on preparing students for exams and this only leads to stress among the children.
To change this approach, students will now be assessed based on their individual learning capabilities and not comparatively.
Instead of exams, other methods will be introduced, such as quizzes, simple projects and role-play.
Dr Amin said the ministry wants to ensure their basic skills and character is properly developed before they continue their learning journey.
Bravo to the Education Ministry! We welcome such meaningful changes for our existing education system.
