2020 has certainly been a very, very interesting year that will definitely be in all future history books.
From the Covid-19 pandemic to the our new norms, there have been many notable up and downs this year.
Since 2010, YouTube has been helings us round out the year by revealing their YouTube Rewind but unfortunately, we won’t be having that this year.

The company released a statement on social media that reads:
“Since 2010, we’ve ended the year with Rewind: a look back at the year’s most impactful creators, videos, and trends. Whether you love it - or only remember 2018 - Rewind was always meant to be a celebration of you.
But 2020 has been different. And it doesn’t feel right to carry on as if you weren’t. So, we’re taking a break from Rewind this year.
We know that so much of the good that did happen in 2020 was created by all of you. You’ve found ways to lift people up, help them cope, and make them laugh. You made a hard year genuinely better.”
As many of us around the world have been staying safe in our homes due to the pandemic, YouTube saw a surge of usage as more and more people spent their time streaming videos online.
All over the Twitterverse, people are having mixed reactions to YouTube’s announcement. Some are in agreement of the video platform’s decision, some are asking them to reconsider it, and some are even angry!
We’ll certainly miss the 2020 YouTube Rewind!
What are your thoughts on the decision? Are you for it or against it? Let us know!
