When Fallout first made its debut in 1997, the video game gained many fans around the world with its storyline that’s set in the 22nd century after a worldwide nuclear war.

The video game series takes players through “an alternate future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s and takes place in a harsh wasteland that contrasts with the prvious generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy,” The Hollywood Reporter writes.

According to THR, Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonah Nolan have taken on the project and will be executive producing the upcoming series.

“The project is currently in development but has a series commitment penalty attached,” THR writes. “That means that if Amazon execs like the scrip, Fallout would bypass the traditional pilot stage and go directly to series.”

Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,” said Lisa and Jonah in a statement. “Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazin Studios.”

“Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring Fallout to the screen,” said Bethesda Game Studios executive producer Todd Howard. “But it was clear from the moment I firs spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them.”

After waiting for over a decade, fans are screaming with excitement that a Fallout series is finally on the way!

We can’t wait to see what the Fallout series will look like!

Are you a Fallout fan? Are you excited for the series? Who do you think should star in it? Let us know!
