And now, things are turning up a notch, as the first reality series to send its winner to the International Space Station is about to take off.

Space Hero Inc., a US-based production company, has managed to secure a spot on a mission to the International Space Station in 2023.
In order to select the lucky winner, contestants will be put through a reality TV show called Space Hero, that will “launch a global search for everyday people from any background who share a deep love for space exploration.”
But this isn’t your ordinary reality series and it won’t be as easy as it sounds.
The selected group of contestants will have to go through extensive training and face challenges that will test their physical, metal and emotional strengths to find out if they have the qualities needed for an astronaut.

The competition will reportedly be broadcast around the world and viewers will then be able to vote for the contestant they deem most worthy to be sent to space.
Space Hero will then follow the winner’s journey from take-off until the landing on the International Space Station where they will then spend 10 days alongside professional astronauts as they travel at 17,000mph and orbiting the Earth 16 times a day.
‘We see the world changing in front of our eyes,” Thomas Reemer, Space Hero Inc.’s creator and founding partner, told Deadline. “In times like these we yearn to look up to people for the right reasons, so it’s time to look amongst ourselves to find the heroes that will inspire a bright future.’

The mission to space will reportedly take place on a SpaceX Dragon rocket, though a launch provider has yet to officially confirmed.
Space Hero Inc. is currently working with full-service human spaceflight mission provider, Axiom Space, to smooth out the details of the space-based reality series.
“Axiom will be in charge of all aspects of the Space Hero mission, including arranging the trip to the International Space Station and securing the rocket seat,” UNILAD shared. “The company will also be training the aspiring astronauts and taking care of insurance coverage.”

This is definitely a trip out of this world!
