According To Jensen Ackles, The Winchester Brothers’ Story Isn’t Over Yet

After 15 seasons, Supernatural is coming to an end and fans are devastated to see the Winchester brothers go.

But, according to Jensen Ackles, this might not be the end for Dean and Sam Winchester.

We’ve seen the brothers literally head to hell and back with them even dying a few times in between, but according to executive producer, Andrew Dabb, this final season will definitely have a real ending.

“We’re looking at this as a true ending,” Andrew said at the 2019 Television Critics Association summer press tour. “And in a true ending, people can’t keep coming back over and over… They’re going to be facing life or death… This time it’s for real.”

But does that mean that we’ve seen the last of Dean and Sam? Jensen aka Dean, sure doesn’t think so.

“I think they’ll continue to move forward, but this is just a long journey that I don’t think is ever going to be over,” Jensen said from the panel. “I think we’re just going to go away for a while. How long? I don’t know.”

When asked about a possible revival of the beloved series, he continued to say “Look, I’m not ever ready to close doors or burn bridges, I think that’s foolish. Am I saying that there’s something in the works? No. Am I saying that I’d be open having a conversation about this in the future? What’s the harm in that?”

As for now, production on the final season of Supernatural has already begun and is expected to hit our screens in October.

“I love these characters,” Jensen added. “It hasn’t grown old, that’s not why we’re entering the final season, but I certainly don’t want it to grow old… This is a very special thing to me and I wanted to end in a way that does justice to what we’ve built in the last 14 and a half years.”

While this may build the anticipation for the final season, Jensen realises that not everyone will be happy with the ending.

“I think the majority of the fans, the people that have been with us through this journey, this is certainly going to feel right and it’s going to feel good and it should for a lot of people,” he said.

We’re crossing our fingers and toes for any sign of a continuation with the Winchester brothers. Do you think the series should just end with season 15 or should there be a continuation? Let us know!
