This week’s penultimate episode, while full of fire and blood, seems to have left a bitter after taste for many fans. For those of you who have seen the episode, you’ll definitely know what we mean.
As Daenerys Targaryen soared over King’s Landing with Drogon and proceeded to turn into the Mad Queen by burning down the city and its people, fans were slightly taken aback by how abrupt things seemed to come to an end. Especially for major characters, ie: Jamie and Cersei Lannister.

For fans, it seems like the entire final season has been a disappointment. From the moment Arya Stark defeated the Night King to Cersei’s demise in the Red Keep, everything seemed to be subpar for viewers.
Fans, who have been invested in the series since the first season, are thoroughly unhappy about how the showrunners seem to be rushing through the season and tying up loose ends very messily.
These fans have decided to do something about the abysmal final season

Fans of the series have taken it upon themselves to begin a petition to insist that HBO recreates the entire eight season.
The petition, titled, “Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers, has currently gained over 254,000 signature so far and the numbers keep growing!
According to Dylan D. - who began the petition, the writers, “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.”
“This series deserves a final season that makes sense,” Dylan wrote. “Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

Seeing as the petition began with a 150,000 signatures goal, the numbers have almost doubled since it began a couple of days ago. That means a lot of disappointed fans have banded together.
However, there has been no official word from HBO or the writers of Game of Thrones, regarding the unofficial petition.

We really doubt that a remake would happen, especially since it cost so much to create the current version. But we can hope right? Cross your fingers and sign the petition HERE if you want to stand with your fellow Game of Thrones lovers.
