Amelia Dimoldenberg is closing the book on a fan-favorite “situationship.”
After years of flirty red carpet exchanges and a long-awaited Chicken Shop Date episode with Andrew Garfield, the internet has been eager to know: could their playful chemistry ever turn into something more? But Amelia has now answered that question once and for all.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” she told The New Yorker. “Otherwise, I would be going out with him already, wouldn’t I?”
As it turns out, while Amelia had a long-term relationship during her time hosting Chicken Shop Date—which has been running since 2014—she is currently single. Meanwhile, Andrew has recently sparked romance rumors with actress Monica Barbaro, after the two were spotted together at a London showing of Richard II.

Of course, Andrew has always been tight-lipped about his dating life. The Spider-Man star—who has been linked to Emma Stone and Dr. Kate Tomas in the past—made his stance clear in an October interview with Esquire, stating, “I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.”
Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from shipping him and Amelia ever since their viral 2023 Golden Globes interview. The moment—where Andrew, flustered, compared Amelia to a “capybara in the wild” before nervously correcting himself—cemented their status as red carpet soulmates.

"We must stop meeting like this," Amelia joked at the time, to which Andrew grinned and replied, "I only ever want to see you."
After an awkward pause, Amelia asked, “What?”—only for Andrew to quickly clarify, “That’s not the end of the sentence. I only ever want to see you in these kinds of situations.”
Even when he finally appeared on Chicken Shop Date two years later, Andrew kept the bit going, telling Amelia, “I feel like this should just be a practice round. I feel we should do it again, actually. And better.”
But despite their undeniable on-screen chemistry, Amelia has made it clear: their romance only exists in the world of viral moments.
