We all know and love Andrew Garfield from his roles in movies such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Hacksaw Ridge, The Social Network, Tik, Tik…Boom! and more... but did you know Andrew almost landed the role of Prince Caspian in the Narnia franchise?

That’s right! The actor was so close to getting the role but lost out to Ben Barnes.

According to reports, the franchise’s executives said that Andrew was not “handsome enough” for the role and we’re in disbelief.

It's really hard for us to imagine anyone thinking he’s not good-looking enough. Look at him! How can you not think he’s attractive? Not enough for Narnia, it seems…

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, where Andrew discussed the thrill of lying about No Way Home and sneaking into a screening with fellow spidey Tobey Maguire, he opened up about the setbacks he's faced in his career so far.

"I remember I was so desperate. I auditioned for Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia and I thought, 'This could be it, this could be it,'" he said. "And that handsome, brilliant actor Ben Barnes ended up getting the role."

"I think it was down to me and him and I remember like, I was obsessed," Andrew explained. "I was like 'why not me?, why not me?' I was saying to my agent, 'just tell me straight, tell me straight,' and she was protecting me and doing all this stuff... And she eventually just broke under my incessant nagging and she was like, 'It's because they don't think you're handsome enough, Andrew.'’

Ouch! That definitely hurt.

But, it’s good. Andrew doesn't seem to be holding any grudges towards Ben for apparently being more handsome than him, lol.

"Ben Barnes is a very handsome, talented man. So in retrospect, I'm not unhappy with the decision, and I think he did a beautiful job." he said.

Well...we, on the other hand Andrew...are not happy! Just imagine seeing him as Prince Caspian tho. Swoon.

Despite losing out on the Narnia franchise role, it didn't take Andrew long to land a few big roles of his own.

Around the same time that Prince Caspian started filming in 2007, Andrew appeared in Lions For Lambs, opposite Robert Redford, Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise. A couple of years later, he was acting alongside Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley in Never Let Me Go and the year after that, he made his breakthrough performance in The Social Network as Eduardo Saverin.

Then, of course, The Amazing Spider-Man happened in 2012...and fans are still losing their minds over his much-speculated, euphoric return in Spider-Man: No Way Home. NGL, we still haven't moved on from it.

On top of that, Andrew also recently just won a Golden Globe for his performance in Netflix’s Tick, Tick… Boom! That’s a major achievement right there!

We’ve always been a fan of Andrew’s superb acting and he’ll always be the handsome-looking spidey to us.

And perhaps to make up for it, Andrew and Ben could maybe get a chance to share the screen together someday. Who knows? That would definitely be a fun!

What do you think about Andrew’s almost-role? Do you think he’d make a good Prince Caspian? Let us know!
