Ariana Grande has once again claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart with Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, the expanded version of her highly successful Eternal Sunshine album. Released on March 28, the deluxe edition not only secured the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 but also dominated the charts for album sales, current album sales, and vinyl albums.
This marks Grande's second time atop the Billboard 200 with Eternal Sunshine. The original album, which debuted a year ago, made waves by earning her a sixth No. 1 album on the chart. It also produced two chart-topping singles—“Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”—on the Hot 100.
In addition to the new tracks included in Brighter Days Ahead, Grande also released a short film titled Brighter Days Ahead to complement the album. Set against the backdrop of her latest songs, the film continues the story introduced in her 2024 music video for “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” In that video, Grande plays Peaches, a heartbroken woman visiting a memory clinic to erase the pain of lost love.
In the new short film, Grande’s character has aged into an elderly woman, seeking a new service at the same clinic—memory restoration. The procedure, however, comes with a catch: the memories are permanently erased once revisited. Throughout the film, Grande’s Peaches reflects on her life, with nostalgic glimpses of what appear to be real childhood videos of the star.
Grande’s year has been filled with monumental milestones. In addition to the success of Eternal Sunshine, she earned her first Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Glinda in the much-anticipated film adaptation of Wicked. The second part of the film, Wicked: For Good, is set for release later this year. At CinemaCon, director Jon M. Chu shared an exclusive preview of the upcoming sequel, with Grande and co-star Cynthia Erivo also joining the presentation to tease what's to come.
With Eternal Sunshine Deluxe and her continued success in both music and film, Ariana Grande remains at the top of her game, captivating fans with every new release.
