The animation and entertainment world is in shock today after the passing of one beloved Malaysian cartoonist.
Malaysian illustrator and creator of the beloved cartoon and comics “Artortoise”, Mohamad Ikhsan bin Kamarudin has passed away today.

The death of the cartoonist who’s also known as Ikhsan Ise, was confirmed in a Facebook post, revealing that he has passed at 1:37am on 1st December 2020.
“Thank you for always supporting Artortoise over the years. InshaAllah Artortoise will be back one day,” the post reads.
The 35-year-old artist was previously diagnosed with stage 3 nose cancer and was recently admitted to hospital for treatment for Hepatisis B since 22 October.

Ikhsan Ise's Artortoise comics are no stranger to Malaysians, with many of his COVID-19 related comics uplifting Malaysians in this difficult time.
He also helped spread awareness in this period of the pandemic through his comics that circulated online and were shared by many.
Many Malaysians also praised his high quality comics that inspired many along his journey.
We will always remember him through his comics that brought smiles to many of us.
