Lisa of BLACKPINK may have met Justin Bieber years ago, but there’s one thing she wishes she had done differently. In a recent interview with The Guardian (March 23), the White Lotus actress and K-pop sensation opened up about her first meeting with the "Peaches" singer. Lisa, 27, admitted that Bieber’s 2010 hit “Baby” was a major part of her childhood and remains the one song she knows all the lyrics to.
“I think everyone was a Bieber fan when they were young,” she shared. “I met him a few years ago, but it was just for a quick ‘hi.’”
Despite the brief interaction, Lisa confessed that she held back from saying what she truly felt at the moment.
“I didn’t tell him how much I loved him because I was too shy,” she revealed.
While Lisa may have kept quiet around Bieber, she had no hesitation when meeting another music icon—Rihanna.
During the interview, Lisa named Work by Rihanna as her go-to party anthem, saying it always lifts the mood. She also recalled her meeting with the 37-year-old singer and beauty mogul, noting, “I did tell her how much I love her.”
Beyond her encounters with A-list celebrities, Lisa recently made history at the 2025 Oscars. She became the first K-pop artist to perform at the prestigious event, joining Doja Cat and RAYE in a medley of iconic James Bond theme songs.
Lisa took on Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney and Wings, while Doja performed Diamonds Are Forever and RAYE sang Skyfall by Adele. The performance featured actress Margaret Qualley in a striking red dress, twirling among tuxedo-clad dancers.
This year has been a milestone moment for Lisa. On February 28, she dropped her first solo album, Alter Ego, featuring collaborations with Doja Cat, RAYE, Rosalía, Tyla, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Speaking to Billboard last November, Lisa teased the album’s versatility, saying, “I think they’re going to be shocked at how capable I am [at] doing so many things.”
Next up, Lisa is set to make her Coachella solo debut before reuniting with BLACKPINK members Jisoo, ROSÉ, and Jennie for a summer tour.
