We’ve heard of many different stories of great bosses who give out big surprises to their employees, but this boss may just have taken the crown for “Best Boss Ever.”

Tis’ the season of giving and this real estate company really believes in giving by rewarding its employees in the best way.
During the Maryland real estate company’s annual holiday party, red envelops were handed out to the unsuspecting employees.
All 198 employees of St. John Properties were shocked to find that in their envelopes were their bonuses that averaged at $50,000 (RM206,000) per person! That’s a total of roughly $10million (RM41.3million)!

“When I opened the envelope, I was in total disbelief,” said Stephanie Ridgway, an assistant project manager at the company. “I couldn’t believe I saw what I saw. I don’t even have words to properly describe how I felt, it was just amazing and incredible. I’m still in shock. It’s definitely life changing.”
Each employee received bonuses based on the amount of years they’ve been working at the company. Even an employee who had been hired but had not officially started working at the company yet received RM413!
The largest bonus that was received was $270,000 (RM1.1million.)!

Speaking to CNN, St. John Properties President Lawrence Maykrantz said that the company had reached its major goal of “developing 20 million square feet in real estate, doubling the amount in 14 years.”
“We wanted to do something to thank all our employees for helping us achieve our goal, and we wanted to do something big,” he said.
“It was truly one of the most amazing things I’ve ever witnessed in my life,” he continued. “Everyone was all overwhelmed with emotions. They were screaming, crying, laughing, hugging.”
“People were lining up to hug us, and kiss us, and shake our hands and they told us story after story of what they’re going to use their bonuses for,” he added. “People are now debt free, they’re paying off their credit cards, their mortgages, their tuition and student loans.”
This was the first time that St. John Properties flew in all their out-of-state employees and their guests from eight different branches, and covered all airfare and hotel costs, so that they could all be together for the party.
“We are so proud of our employees,” said the company’s president. “They are the foundation and the reason behind the success of our company. And we wanted a big way to thank them and I think we were successful in doing that.”
