Bullying is not okay anywhere and at any age, and a 17-year-old Malaysian boy has reportedly committed suicide after being constantly bullied by his classmates.
The boy named Jiang Junzhe from Johor was constantly bullied by two of his classmates at school that he reportedly jumped from the 4th floor of a mall on March 2.
“Thank you everyone. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for you, but I really cannot go on any longer,” the victim wrote in his Instagram stories before his death.
The victim’s funeral was attended by his family and friends, as well as the two bullies and the bullies’ parents. The bullies were seen kneeling down and apologizing to the victim in front of his coffin.
“If it was your son who died today, what would you do? You forced my son and left him no choice but to jump,” said the victim’s parents to the bullies. They also scolded the bullies’ parents for not educating their children, to which they were unable to respond to.
The two bullies allegedly poured water on the victim as well as chilli sauce into his school bag, and also took his cash card for the school’s cafeteria.
The victim’s father told the two bullies that he would forgive them only if they were truthful and almost lost his temper before being comforted by his family members.
The victim’s mother said that the family were not aware that the victim was being bullied and thought he was just trying to lose weight when he started packing food to school.
It was also revealed by the victim’s classmates that he was constantly being bullied because he refused to join a secret gang.
“He told me that this would be the last time we play basketball. But I didn’t think anything was wrong at that time,” said one of the victim’s classmate.
Bullying is a serious matter and if you know a person that being bullied, always try to reach out and help them.
