Not sure where to go for holiday? We’re thinking Malaysia, and hey, we’re not the only ones! These famous actors and musicians also came all the way to our country, and said, “Vacay vibes? Check.”

Did you know that these 7 international celebs holiday-ed in Malaysia?

#1 Grant Gustin in Sabah

You may know him as Barry Allen from the Flash, and in December 2017, the actor was spotted with La Thoma, his half-Kadazan (then) fiancée in Sabah. With an Instagram selfie on Gustin’s profile captioned, “We made it”, netizens were quick to spot Kota Kinabalu’s skyline in the background.

Grant later revealed that he was in town for a wedding, and then returned to Sabah again to get married himself at a very special Kadazan ceremony!

He also mentioned it was his first time in Malaysia, and that he found it very beautiful with amazing people. "I have also been told that the people here can roll their tongues and pronounce rrrrr well," he said while demonstrating his newfound talent of rolling his tongue.

It’s no wonder Grant loves Sabah, really. The East Malaysian state is the perfect destination for a relaxing tropical getaway, where you get to slow down and savour a different pace of life, take in stunning rainforests, the highest peak of Southeast Asia, and stroll along white-sand beaches, and crystal-clear waters.

Wanna visit East Malaysia in a ‘Flash’ but don’t know where to stay? Here are a few places to consider:

#2 Dua Lipa in KL

Having performed in Malaysia twice—in 2017 and 2018, Dua Lipa said Kuala Lumpur is one of the most interesting places she has visited in her travels around the world.

On a Q&A sesh with her fans via TikTok, she admitted:

“There are lots of places I have gone to, but my favourite is Kuala Lumpur. I visited a lot of amazing temples there. It’s one of the most interesting experiences I’ve had when I was in Asia.”

#4 Henry Lau and Paul Kim in Penang

We love Penang, so it’s no surprise that K-Pop star Henry Lau does too.

The Chinese-Canadian singer-actor visited Penang in February this year and shared a series of pictures of him in Georgetown with the caption, "Finally sunlight! Wassup Malaysia! I'm just here for a day this time but I'll be back soon. Miss you all. Please stay safe and healthy."

The 33-year-old also uploaded a video, where he showed his 8.5 million followers the bustling streets of Little India.

Lau wasn’t the only K-pop star who visited Penang. In fact, on the same day, many also saw South Korean singer Paul Kim.

On Instagram, Kim uploaded photos of himself posing in front of the sea with a caption that read, "What's up Penang?"
