Chadwick Boseman may have left us but his legacy is here to stay after he was announced as Best Actor at the Golden Globes awards.
The late star who passed away six months ago was awarded Best Actor for his role as an ambitious trumpet player in the movie Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
His wife, Simone Ledward Boseman accepted the award on his behalf and teared up as she delivered a heart breaking speech.
"He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices,” she said tearfully.
"He would say something beautiful. Something inspiring. Something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you you can, that tells you to keep going...”
“And I don’t have his words. But we have to take a moment to celebrate the ones we love. So thank you, HFPA,” Simone said as her words chocked up Chadwick’s co-star Viola Davis as well. "And honey, you keep 'em coming.”
Chadwick won the award against Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Gary Oldman (Mank), and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian).
He filmed for the role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom while secretly battling his four-year colon cancer and passed away in August 2020.
