An image of two Malaysian-made cars bearing the word “Police” in English and Chinese characters with livery was uploaded to Facebook yesterday.

chinese police cars were spotted in putrajaya, but why?

The post caused a lot of confusion online with Facebook users wondering why the Chinese police were in town, eventually causing the post to go viral.

But there’s no need to worry, folks! PDRM quickly cleared the air stating that the cars are actually being used for a movie!

Apparently, an entertainment company is filming a movie titled The Original Sin in Putrajaya.

The film is about a life of a policeman living in a fictional town called Han City. How exciting! It looks like more and more entertainment companies are looking to film their movies here in Malaysia!

In 2014, a well-known film production company, The Weinsten Company, shot a drama series titled Marco Polo in Johor.

Interestingly, Marco Polo was also set in 13th century China. So, we suppose Malaysia must be a great China-look-alike for films!
