Talks about Chris Evans returning as Captain America in the MCU have been ongoing ever since the character’s fate in Avengers: Endgame with the star reportedly denying reprising the iconic role… but new rumours seems to say otherwise!
Rumours have surfaced saying that Chris Evans is in fact, returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The rumours came after news about the actor in talks to return for at least one new Marvel project made its way, with an insider saying that Chris will be back as Captain America for three separate productions if the discussion goes well.
The insider Daniel Richtman, revealed that one unknown project will have Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers and would take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame after he returns to the past to be with Peggy Carter.
The story from Steve’s point of view will show him encountering the iconic X-Men character Wolverine and fight with the mutant in the 60s or 70s!
Rumours about the battle of adamantium claws and vibranium shield have many fans excited and curious to see how the leader of X-Men will be introduced into the MCU.
But of course, these are merely rumours at this point. The other two projects in discussion revolves around an alternative universe Steve Rogers working for HYDRA and the third remains unknown.
It’s definitely nice to hear about the possibility of Chris Evans coming back as the beloved Captain America, but the chances are still slim with the actor previously saying that he will never return as Steve Rogers in the future.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
