Lacoste is famous for its iconic green crocodile logo. But for this year’s Paris Fashion Week, the brand decided to temporarily change it.

The iconic crocodile was replaced with 10 endangered animals as part of their Save Our Species program, a collaboration between Lacoste and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The endangered animals featured include the Vaquita dolphin, the Burmese roofed turtle, the Sumatran tiger, the Northern sportive lemur and several others.

The whole collection consists of only 1,775 items because the number of shirts produced for each series corresponds to the remaining quantity of the species left in nature.

The line may have already sold out, but it has triggered reaction from the people on the Internet. Internet users are calling Lacoste out for ‘greenwashing’. The term implies that the company claims it’s helping the environment when in reality, it’s only interested in promoting itself.
The internet population argues that if Lacoste really wanted to help, they would make changes in their production procedures instead.
