The Conditional MCO ending on the June 9th will be replaced by the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from June 10 to August 31.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin announced the RMCO replacement in today’s live broadcast.
Here are more details from the press conference:
- Interstate travel is now allowed especially to visit elderly parents but the public is urged to be cautious of their hygiene
- EMCO areas are not allowed for interstate activities.
- Social and sporting activities are also permitted except for sports competitions involving large numbers of supporters.
- Schools will be reopened in stages according to the MOH's advice.
- Domestic tourism activities are also allowed.
- The implementation of the RMCO does not mean that all operations and procedures return to the old normal, SOPs will be in place and people will need to get used to the new normal.
- Efforts to control the transmission of COVID-19 lie at the expense of the public.
- Religious activities like Hari Raya Aidiladha are allowed but subject to SOP.
- Rules for activities in mosques and other places of worship to be relaxed to allow more attendees, are being refined and will be announced soon.
