An elderly lady who was thought to be dead due to COVID-19, woke up minutes before she was burnt in a corpse burning ceremony in Baramati, India.
The 76-year-old woman named Shakuntala Gaikwad was tested positive for the virus and was brought to the hospital after her condition worsened.
She was getting treatment at the hospital but went unconscious and was thought to have died before her “dead body” was taken home by her family members.
Her “corpse” was then taken to the corpse burning ceremony when she shocked everyone after she opened her eyes and started crying.
Police officer Santosh said that she was then rushed to Hospital Silver Jubilee for treatment.
