As people have been staying home to help curb the spread of COVID-19, many have been turning more to social media, TikTok in particular.
One TikTok video in particular has gained extra interest due to the additional “something” that pops up in the background of a guy who’s home alone…

22-year-old TikTok user Reu has been by himself and home alone at the time when he decided to attempt the #SaySo challenge.
But it wasn’t his dancing that caught the internet’s attention, it was the “something” that was seen popping its head on the stairs behind him before quickly disappearing.
Before you ask if it was perhaps his pet, Reu noted in a separate video that he does not have any types of pets and he confirmed that he was home alone.
“I’m home alone so I learned a tiktok dance. lov u doja but what has my life come to?” he captioned the video.

On the top right corner, at the four-second mark, a shadowy figure pops into the frame and pops back out! We’re officially freaked out!
Reu’s followers immediately noticed the figure and flooded his comments: “The AMOUNT OF ANXIETY I have from his video. That’s someone literally poking their head TO LOOK AT YOU,” a comment read.
“DID Y’ALL SEE THAT?? IN THE BACKGROUND???” one user screamed. “It’s 3am I did not need this right now,” another user said.
“When I tell you my heart DROPPED,”
But some however were skeptical… A few suspected that Reu had actually planned the whole thing just to go viral.
“The fact he said he’s home alone kinda makes me feel it’s staged tho,” one user wrote.
“Look man I MIGHT OF [sic] believed you if you didn’t specifically say you were home alone,” another commented.
Reu however denied those accusations and posted a number of videos updating his followers on the situation. He thanked his followers for their concern and said, “I’m kinda stomach sick right now and I was in and out of sleep all last night.”
One user asked Reu how he was so calm after the incident and he responded by saying “I’m not, I barely slept last night.”
“I’m like 99% certain that it wasn’t a person on the stairs because the stairs are loud… The audio from the TikTok when I was recording wasn’t that loud, I definitely would have heard them.”
Speaking to Unilad, the 22-year-old said that he was initially worried that the figure “could have been a person,” but this was ruled out after he and his family “checked the entire house and there’s really nowhere for anyone to hide.”
However, Reu “isn’t worried” about the prospect that the figure could be something paranormal.
“The idea of this being something supernatural doesn’t scare me as I’ve had many experiences with the paranormal while living here (which is my whole life)," he said. “Nothing has presented itself as harmful or malicious, so I’m not worried about it.”
Speaking about the claims that he had staged the whole thing up just to go viral, he said, “If I were to manfacture a video just to go viral, I would have perfected the dance or at least made myself look a bit more presentable.”
Well… We can’t be certain if this was faked or not but whichever it is, we’re still freaked out.
