Fans have been eagerly waiting for Deadpool to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox and it’s finally happening!
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed that Deadpool will finally be joining the MCU with Ryan Reynolds overseeing the script.
Deadpool 3 will be moving forward at Marvel Studios and it will be rated-R just like the first and second movie!
"It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now," Kevin Feige said.
The news is definitely a win for Deadpool fans, however Kevin doesn’t believe that the movie will begin shooting this year because they want to make sure Deadpool gets the right entry into the MCU!
That, and Ryan Reynold is busy.
"It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun,” Kevin added.
“Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life."
Ryan Reynolds previously posted a picture on Instagram posing at Marvel Studios with a funny caption saying that he had auditioned for the role of “Anthony Stark”.
With Disney’s recent investor’s day announcement on Marvel’s future lineup including Fantastic 4, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and more coming, it will be interesting to see how Deadpool will be introduced into the MCU!
Perhaps in a good old fashioned Marvel end-credit scene!
