Dengue fever is no laughing matter and can sometimes lead to death. And it got worse for Malaysian in 2019.
Over 119,198 cases of dengue fever was reported from January to 27 November 2019 and increased by 70 percent compared to 2018.
Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye revealed that there are 164 deaths from dengue fever reported this year hitting an all-time high in Malaysia.
Here are the symptoms of dengue fever and ways to prevent Aedes mosquitoes from breeding in your area:
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, “there is no specific treatment for dengue or severe dengue but early detection and prompt medical care will save lives.”
Dengue cases might reach 150,000 cases by the end of this year if they are not contained and various methods have been used to overcome dengue outbreak such as fogging and removing breeding sites for mosquitoes.
