Malaysia’s Health director-general was the focus of the media recently after he was named one of the top three doctors in the world dealing with the pandemic and his response to a letter a 11-year-old Malaysian girl wrote him.
And today Malaysia celebrates his birthday!
Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah turns 57 today and when asked about what would be the best birthday gift for him, he gave the best response with a smile.
"On the occasion of my birthday Tuesday (April 21), the most special gift for me will be if Malaysians remain staying at home and observe high hygiene standards,” he said.
He said that the request is one of his most important birthday gifts - this comes after Malaysia recorded the lowest number of new cases since March 12 with 36 cases and with no deaths reported.
Dr Noor Hisham has now become the most “trusted” sources for COVID-19 related information along with the two other doctors after China Global TV Network crowned them as the world’s top doctors in handling the pandemic.
He was praised for his straightforward and calm approach in handling the nation’s COVID-19 crisis and he was recently selected to join other scientists worldwide in coalition to fight the global pandemic too!
Datuk Dr Noor Hisham who is also a surgeon and holder of a Master's degree in Surgery and a Doctorate of Medicine from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); was appointed as Director General of Health on March 1, 2013.
Happy Birthday Dr Noor Hisham and thank you for your tireless efforts in keeping the nation safe from the virus and giving us our daily live updates on Malaysia’s COVID-19 situation!
