Malaysians staying at home are posting about how they’ve felt a slight tremor around 4pm today and an earthquake was officially confirmed to have originated from Indonesia.
Many netizens took to Twitter after feeling tremors in various areas in the Klang Valley with some users posting videos of the incident too!
The Malaysian Meteorology Department confirmed that an earthquake occurred in North Sumatera, Indonesia at 4:20pm, 30 April 2020.
The tremor was reportedly felt in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, parts of Selangor, Penang and some parts in Perak.
Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency Indonesia (BMKG) also confirmed that a 5.6 magnitude earthquake has occurred, but said that there is no potential of a tsunami.
Some other netizens said that the earthquake was felt in Melaka too with others jokingly saying they didn’t feel it because they were sleeping or couldn’t feel it because they were fasting.
