Sometimes we come across such horrific news, it leaves us speechless.
This is one of them.
Recently in India, an elephant died after being set on fire with a burning tyre by some villagers.

The 40-year-old elephant’s death has been causing an uproar everywhere with many calling for justice for the poor animal.
According to reports, a villager in Tamil Nadu threw a piece of burning tyre at the elephant that was wandering near the village, in a bid to chase it away.
Unfortunately, the tyre got stuck on the elephant’s ears.

A video of the appalling incident has been making its way around social media and many are furious at seeing the distressed animal trying to make its way away from its attackers.
In the video, a group of men can be seen throwing the flaming object at the elephant in the village in Masinagudi in the Nilgiris.

Forest rangers later found the 40-year-old elephant with severe burn injuries and in a very weak condition. It was tranquilised and transported to the Theppakadu elephant camp.
Sadly, the animal succumbed to its injuries while being transported to the medical facility.

Three men who are believed to be responsible for the inhumane act, have been booked.
According to the senior official of the Masinagudi Tiger reserve, they were identified as Prasath, Raymond Dean and Ricky Rayan.
Two of them have been arrested while the third has yet to be nabbed.

We’re so incredibly angry and hope that those involved will receive the strictest punishment.
Previously, a pregnant elephant was also killed when she ate a firecracker-filled pineapple.
We really hope that justice will be served.
