Emily Osment Isn’t Romanticizing the Disney Games—She’s Traumatized

Emily Osment is not exactly thrilled about the sudden resurgence of the Disney Channel Games in pop culture—especially after Nick Jonas’ recent comments comparing it to “Love Island on crack.”

In an exclusive interview with E! News at CBS Fest on May 7, the Hannah Montana alum revealed she’s been actively trying to erase those memories. “I put that so far back in the chamber of my mind,” she joked. “I’ve tried so hard to forget about it—I don’t know why it’s coming back.”

Playfully calling out Jonas, Osment added, “I have a bone to pick with Nick Jonas. Please—we’re trying to forget it.”

Her take on the experience is far less glamorous than Nick’s. “Unpaid, one week in Disneyland where we just sweat our butts off,” she recalled with a laugh. “Yeah, that was real fun.”

While she may not miss the Disney Channel Games, Osment has nothing but love for her current gig on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the Young Sheldon spinoff. The show is gearing up for its second season this fall, and both Emily and her co-star Montana Jordan are excited to be back. “It’s incredible,” Jordan shared. “We’re very thankful to be a part of this show and a part of the CBS family.”

As for Osment’s character, Mandy, there’s plenty to enjoy. “I’m really loving Mandy doing the weather again for Channel 7,” Emily said. “It’s been so fun working with the green screen, wearing my cowboy boots, and being goofy.”

And getting to perform in front of a live audience again has added a nostalgic twist for the former Disney star. “I’ve done quite a bit of multi-cam, and some of it was with Disney,” she said. “It definitely brings a different energy. It’s like putting on a play every Tuesday night. It’s very special.”

Osment’s sentiments aren’t exactly unique—she’s in good company when it comes to roasting the Disney Channel Games. Fellow alum Dylan Sprouse once famously called the event “hot, sweaty chaos,” while Hannah Montana co-star Jason Earles recalled it as “a sunburn waiting to happen.” Safe to say, while it may live in fans’ nostalgic hearts, the Disney Games live in the stars’ memories as a sticky, heatstroke-inducing fever dream.
