The biggest bookstore chain in Taiwan that’s known for its aesthetic atmosphere and the first 24-hour operating bookstore is opening its first outlet in Malaysia!
Eslite Bookstore has made its name in Taiwan over the years, with one of its outlets being so famous that it has turned into a tourist attraction – and it’s opening its first Southeast Asia outlet in Kuala Lumpur!
Eslite Group chairperson Mercy Wu confirmed that the outlet is set to open in 2021 for Malaysians.
While not a specific date has been not confirmed due to the pandemic, the location will be set in KL City Centre and is estimated to be 3,300-6,600 square meters wide (that’s as big as a football field)!
While the first outlet that was established by Robert Wu Ching-Yu back in 1989, focuses on art and humanities-related books, the new store in KL is set to introduce a wider book selection with countless genres.
It’s safe to say that they won’t just have books in a store that big! The store will most likely feature the famous Eslite cafe that will allow customers to enjoy food and beverages similar to the ones in the Eslite bookstores located in Taipei.
The largest bookstore chain in Taiwan has made its name over 31 years and the outlet in Taipei is so big that it covers five-storey selling varieties of items like clothing, gifts and more!
The company has also expanded over the years, and even opened up a shopping mall that includes products ranging from accessories to homeware to fashion and beauty products!
While several of its outlets in Taiwan are facing closure due to the pandemic, the store in Malaysia is expected to have both booklovers and non-booklovers hooked!
Are you excited for the opening of the bookstore? Share this with a fellow booklover!
