Facebook wants to help change your relationship status from “single” to “in a relationship”.
Mark Zuckerberg announced yesterday, during the annual F8 Facebook Developers conference, that they’ll be launching a new feature for the Facebook App later this year. Named Dating, the feature allows users to create a dating profile—separate from their existing Facebook profile—and match with potential love interests.

He clarified that the user’s Facebook friends will not be able to see their Dating profile (Phew! Shy laaa). “The app will find potential matches based on dating preferences, things in common, and mutual friends,” he explained.
In his announcement, Mark also joked that the new feature is not intended to follow the stereotypical objective of previous dating apps. “This is going to be for building real, long- term relationships—not just for hookups,”.

Dating will be an optional feature on the Facebook app. Do you think you’ll try it once it rolls out?
