Finn Wolfhard got famous fast—like, age 13, overnight-success fast—when Stranger Things dropped in 2016. Now 22, he says there’s one thing he’d do differently: go straight to therapy.

“It was so crazy and overnight, that there was not really any time to think about that,” he told PEOPLE. Still, he doesn’t regret the chaos—just sees it as part of growing up. “Childhood, and life in general, is about trial and error.”
The Stranger Things star has opened up about how fame affected his mental health, saying he had to bury a lot of feelings to keep going. These days, he’s juggling acting and directing—his film Hell of a Summer is out now, and The Legend of Ochi hits theaters April 25.

Final season of Stranger Things drops later this year. Therapy? Still underrated.
