If there’s a reboot, remake, or continuation of a series/movie that has had to happen for the longest time, it’s definitely Friends.
The iconic TV series that ran for 10 seasons has gathered fans of all ages from every corner of the world even though the series ended in 2004. With reruns constantly playing, it’s no wonder that the legendary series has never had a shortage of fans.
While reruns are great and all that, HBO Max has confirmed that the cast is indeed reuniting for an hour-long “exclusive untitled unscripted special.”
Bear in mind that this doesn't mean that we'll be getting new episodes of the beloved series.
"Let's be clear: This isn't a revival or reboot," E! News reported. "It's jsut six pals, who played friends on TV, getting together to talk about their 25-year-old show."

Many rumours have been going around for years about a reunion “movie” or something of the sort, but the cast has always constantly denied those rumours.
This time around, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer all took to their social media accounts with the same picture of the Friends together with a simple caption that said, “It’s happening…”
“Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together,” said chief HBO Max’s chief content officer and president of TBS, TNT, and truTV, Kevin Reilly. “We are reuniting David, Jennifer, Courtney, Matt, Lisa and Matthew for a HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library.”
“I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation,” Kevin continued in a statement. “It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”

Safe to say, the world is in tears of joy to know that the full cast would be returning to the original Friends soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California.
Over on the Twitterverse, fans are screaming with excitement over the reunion, as are we!
Not much else about the upcoming Friends special is known just yet but we’re overjoyed just to know that a reunion is indeed happening!
Are you a Friends fan? Have you been waiting for a reunion as long as we have? What do you think this special will be about? Let us know!
